Śrem lies on the River Warta, 42 km south of Poznań. The current population of Śrem is nearly 31 thousand, whereas the population of the entire district is over 40 thousand. Śrem is an important road hub, improved by the new ring road.  
 
Śrem is a town which moves with the times and supports sustainable development. Its natural, tourist, cultural and business environments are very welcoming. The local authorities have created the Śrem Investment Park, which constitutes part of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. Proinvestment policy is successfully realized there. 
Śrem is also a one-of-the-kind leisure spot. The town offers sports, leisure and tourist infrastructure as well as various cultural attractions.
